Guest arrived and were lead out of the hotel to a waiting luxury charter boat, Jude. Diesel Motors Mercedes-Benz flags adorning the boat danced in the wind as guests removed their heels and stepped onboard. Flowing Moët was served in stunning gold goblets as guests cruised along the Swan River at sunset, taking in the magical Perth City lights. Guests also enjoyed canapes from Samphire Catering. Our guests returned to the Raffles Hotel for a private after party on the upstairs balcony. The warm evening set the tone for a truly memorable event and countless social media selfies!

EVENT CONCEPT, MANAGEMENT + HOSTING: The Perth Collective
Gather the following ingredients:
- A room full of some of Perth’s most influential businesswomen
- A long table lunch
- Styling by the fabulous Mardie & Co
- A panel discussion as well as presentations on personal styling and photography
- The historic Guildhall event space in North Fremantle
- Carefully curated gift boxes
And you’ve got a recipe for the most uplifting and inspiring Friday afternoon you could imagine.
When The Perth Collective announced they were hosting a Winter Long Table Lunch in Partnership with the Guildhall Event Space, it was an event not to be missed. Founder Nikki pulled together the ultimate dream-team for this one, and has now set the bar so high that I’m sure it’s just about reaching the roof.
Walking into the already beautiful Guildhall, guests were taken aback by just how incredible the room looked. The table was piled high with gifts for each guest and the bar had undergone a very clever makeover to really bring the whole place to life. Mardie and Co worked with Lala Design to design and make custom panels that perfectly slotted in to the usually quite plain bar. The result was astounding and truly showed why Mardie is one of the best in the game. Bar panels! It takes a true professional to think of that. We later learnt that a beautiful gold peacock statue that had adorned the bar, was in fact the initial inspiration for the theming of the day. It stemmed from childhood days at Rottnest for Mardie and really made it feel like so much personality had been injected into that room.
After we’d walked into the main hall and had finished collectively picking our jaws up off the floor, we ventured into the sunny side courtyard to mingle with both the familiar and the fresh faces. Nikki welcomed us with her usual flair and can we all just take a moment here to acknowledge that dress! Wow! And what a perfect dress to boomerang, haha!
Nikki has recently launched Salted Creative, a content creation service for both international and local brands. Salted Creatives photographer Tazz presented her best tips on how to create that perfect image for our social media and we learnt how she amazingly grew from creating images with a $2 Kmart backdrop into now owning her own photographic studio. If you’ve ever followed Tazz’s work (you’d be crazy not to!) then you were there, secretly trying to hide the fact that you were writing every word she spoke into the notes app on your phone.
Following Tazz’s advice on how to style and photograph the perfect image, stylist to WA’s A-list Juvelle Behrendorff gave us her top tips on how to style ourselves. No longer are we classified as “bricks” or “pears” (sorry, in joke, you had to be there!) but we are encouraged to basically style according to our personality. If you’ve got a Kim Kardashian booty and are proud of it, then flaunt it!
We all left our pear and brick personas in the courtyard and ventured in for the really exciting part……. The presents! But first, we all took 10 minutes to practice our new photography skills and capture the shot that was just right to Instagram and make all our friends at work jealous. After sitting down and taking it all in, we were able to see just how much thought had gone into every single detail of the day. From the floral centrepieces to the name tags, everything was perfectly cohesive and proved that when a bunch of women put their heads together, really wonderful things can happen! Lunch was amazing, seriously amazing. Whilst perfectly light and refreshing, we sat with our comfortably-full bellies and listened to Nikki speak with both Mardie and relative newcomer, but oh so lovable, Shenay from the Little Polka Dot Pantry. The girls all blew us away with stories of how they got to where they are now, how they’ve dealt with sticky situations and how it’s ok to say “no”.
With love and thanks to our event partners

EVENT CONCEPT + HOSTING: The Perth Collective
Pullman Resort mixed work and play for a Small Business Event in a private room at the resort which was filled with natural light and those stunning views of the bay. We had the privilege of having Kate from The Zest Group WA take care of the styling, (you must check out Kate's website here). A modern tropical theme complimented the room with pineapples, coconuts and giant clam shells providing a talking point.
We enjoyed high tea overlooking the bay and were treated to incredible desserts by Pullman Resort Exec Chef Gilles England-Brassy who had put so much love and detail into each dessert they almost looked too good to eat!
Manager Zac Leach and Exec Chef Gilles England-Brassy from Pullman Resort welcomed the guests and introduced the resort, talking us through the menu.
The day was full of laughter, delightful food, styling, stories shared and new connections made.
CLIENT: PORSCHE CENTRE PERTH
CONCEPT, EVENT MANAGEMENT, INFLUENCER ENGAGMENT + HOSTING: Nikki Milne @ The Perth Collective
Remember when high-performance luxury cars were for men only?
No more. Increasing numbers of women are gravitating to the thrill and prestige of luxury cars. Porsche is a fierce champion of female entrepreneurs, recently launching their own Women In Drive magazine to celebrate the risk takers and leaders who are steering this new trend. Teaming up with The Perth Collective, a group of fearless businesswomen, was a natural turn.
A lucky group of local female entrepreneurs – each carefully selected for their creative business acumen – received an invitation in their mailbox to this exclusive private event. On Friday 21st of October, they were ready for the big unveil.
Arriving at the Porsche Centre, they were greeted by TPC founder Nikki Milne and Emeline Newbon from Porsche, who revealed over breakfast they were going to be stepping into the driver’s seat of covetable Porsche fleet cars. Imagine their surprise!
Adrenaline was high as our entrepreneurs weaved through coastal stretches. As the sun shone down with glimpses of the ocean to their left, the dream of owning one of these luxury cars seemed more and more in reach.
Hopping out of the cars at the stunning Kailis at Trigg Beach, guests were served mocktails before being introduced to their second experience of the morning: a bespoke botanical perfumery experience where each guest made their own perfume with Generics Urban Apothecary.
Between courses, Nikki spoke on the incredible growth of The Perth Collective in the 18 months since it launched, and the reason it was formed: to recognise women in creative industries in WA who represent the new leaders in entrepreneurship.
Nikki’s big message was that as female business owners – and often mothers – we seldom take the time to stop and reflect. She encouraged the guests to celebrate and acknowledge how incredible each person’s journey had been, and the role they had played in inspiring other women to start businesses of their own.
Over dessert, guests were treated to their third experience: an organic tea degustation series from Generics The Art of Tea.
Heading home in the Porsche cars, guests were reminded how empowering it is to follow their business dreams and spend their hard- earned money on whatever brings them joy – including luxury cars!
ON THE MENU
Share boards of spiced fried Shark Bay prawns, house marinated herring, pickled Fremantle octopus, local charred bugs, ancient grain salad, pomegranate, market fish with celeriac remoulade, chargrilled local asparagus, burnt grapefruit, fennel crumble and coddled egg dressing. For dessert, saffron lemon curd with macadamia ginger toffee.

EVENT: The Perth Collective Breakfast
What a huge success, our second event for TPC Tribe. We gathered over breakfast on Father’s Day to share, connect and inspire each other. Over 35 Individual Small Creative Female-Owned Businesses collaborated to pull together an incredibly stylish event.
Thank you to the Styling & Florist Creatives that transformed the Fraser’s venue:
Floral State & Popping Cork Events, Trend Events & Bowerbird Florist, Hobnob Parties & Green Vase Florist, Flowers by Janie, Bride & Groom for the stage furniture and Moss and Fern for the stage blooms.
The room was abuzz with energy as women networked and spoke to each other explaining their businesses. I (Nikki Milne) spoke on stage, hopefully answering some of the most-asked questions like, 'How many times do you post to Instagram per day? What are the peak times to post? How do we use hashtags?' From the response afterwards, I gathered it had been helpful to many when trying to navigate the world of social media.
Next up, we had our Guest Panel of WA Female Business Owners:
Lanna Hill from Lanna Hill Personal Training & One Small Step Coaching
Amy Marvelli from Body Wisdom Mount Hawthorn
Elisa Langer from Cinque Candle Co
Kate Illarietti from Lock & Key Clothing
We discuss topics such as their favourite ways to market their businesses, what they have found challenging when owning their own businesses, how they reward staff and client loyalty, plus who they admire in WA business. These ladies did a wonderful job, although nervous, they all spoke amazingly well.
The dessert bar, designed and Styled by Trend Events with Flowers by Janie, was the talk of the morning. Perfectly balanced and brimming with incredible desserts from Bites By D, My Petites Sweets, Sugar & Salt Cookies, Cakery Road, Wonderland Catering Creations, Margurerite Cakes, Major & Morsel Food Co, Sav Loves Cakes and Ce C’s Cakes. Wooden Signage was custom-made by Etched and Tea by Perth-based Teassentials.
The Menus were created by Monkey Business Design and the Place Cards and Seating Chart by Willow Lane Designs.
And lastly, who doesn’t love a gift bag!! Thank you to all the small businesses that gifted including Rafters Aerial Fitness for the socks, Nestle & Porter for the customised TPC Note Books, Peticakes, Mandalachai, Amaze Balls, TOMS Organic, That Girl Boo for the awesome and inspiring quotes, Jolimont Skincare Clinic, Media Freedom Designs for the beautiful Cards, The Prospect Project for the yummy Granola and WASP for the Lashes!
